I am widely recognized as the pioneer of hybrid drumming in Sri Lanka, showcasing exceptional skill in blending electric tones, effects, loops, and acoustic sounds to craft a distinct auditory experience. Since 2017, I have collaborated with numerous prominent bands and artists across the country, notably working with the Warehouse Project while establishing my own brand, Rachi Watz.
Under the mentorship of Mr. Aruna Siriwardhana and Shamila Siriwardhana, I have honed my craft, mastering a diverse array of styles encompassing Funk, Latin, Pop, Jazz, and progressive Metal, both in live performances and studio recordings. As a teenager, I initiated my musical journey by sharing drum covers and hybrid drum projects on YouTube, showcasing my remarkable abilities.
Additionally, I hold the distinction of being the first owner of the Yamaha EAD 10 module, earning recognition from Yamaha Music Center in Sri Lanka. Beyond my prowess as a drummer, I am a versatile musician, proficient in multiple instruments, composition, and arrangement.
In 2021, I further solidified my commitment to music production by establishing my own recording studio, Rachi Watz Studio, facilitating the creation of original music projects. With my unparalleled technical precision and musical finesse, I stand out as an outstanding musician, captivating audiences with my unparalleled talent.
